Sunday, October 6th
Happy Sunday. After stopping by Adult Swim Festival for a whole 10 minutes, I went over to hang with my bros in Little Tokyo. Also took a class at Sweat Yoga (thanks Nykki) and felt fucking great afterward. We decided to catch A Simple Favor at Edwards Alhambra at 6:30pm, which was fucking packed. And then we realized why: half-off movie tickets. It was $5.45 for a ticket!! Brazy. So fucking worth it.
First off, Blake Lively is my babygirl. She’s literally perfect. And my bro loves Anna Kendrick lmao. We actually tried to see this last Sunday, but ended up in Night School. I don’t think it mattered what this movie was gonna be about, these two actresses slay. But then as the movie kept rolling, we kept being thrown for a loop. This shit was crazy! It’s like a drama, comedy, thriller… all the above.
IMDB plot: Stephanie is a single mother with a parenting vlog who befriends Emily, a secretive upper-class woman who has a child at the same elementary school. When Emily goes missing, Stephanie takes it upon herself to investigate.
The movie is super hip to today’s technology and social media. Anna’s role has her vlogging on a fake Youtube which I thought was super interesting. There’s definitely a crazy plot twist that threw the whole theater in a loop. Everyone was busting up, there were jokes for days. The movie runs for 2 hours and I thought it was fucking great. I highly recommend it!
