Green Book Was So Fucking Good.

January 13, 2019

Sunday, January 12th

Happy Sunday! It’s literally scary how fast time is passing, but here we are. Still so fucking humbled & grateful for everyone who came out & wished me happy birthday. It’s making me go even hard in the new year. Tonight, I finally got to see a movie. A fire movie at that. Shout out to Ashley for suggesting this! We hit the 7:15pm showing of Green Book at AMC Century City. First of all, this mall is fucking huge. We both lost our cars lmao.

I hadn’t heard of this, but read the plot that it took place in the Bronx and was in. Can’t go wrong with New York. It also got 94% on Rotton Tomatoes which is insane. It stars Mahershala Ali, best known for his role on Moonlight. No spoilers, but there’s a point in this film that you’re like “omg!” Bringing you right back to Moonlight.

IMDB plot: A working-class Italian-American bouncer becomes the driver of an African-American classical pianist on a tour of venues through the 1960s American South.

Viggo Mortensen slayed his role, that’s all I have to say. He takes on the job of being Dr. Don Shirley’s (hayyyy) driver/road manager. Totally relatable to the music industry. He has such a strong personality in the film — one that people both love & are scared of. The movie’s 2 hours and 10 minutes, but it was so great I didn’t even notice. It’s honestly an emotional roller coaster but there’s also a ton of humor. Our whole theater was busting up! The themes range from family to racism to career to… just life.

I fucking loved this movie & I def recommend everyone go see it.
