Serenity Starring Matthew McConaughey & Anne Hathaway Was A Flop

January 27, 2019

Sunday, January 27th

Happy Sunday! Today I worked & hung out w/ the bros. I literally look forward to these days so much. Sadly, I’ve seen every movie out so we had to settle for Serenity. It wasn’t TERRIBLE, but it was definitely Netflix worthy.

We hit the 7:35pm showing at Edwards Alhambra 14, which is half off on Sundays. Steal. We literally bought 3 tix for the price of one. The reason I was even remotely interested? Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway. I feel like you can’t go wrong. But the film legit got 30% in ratings so we knew it wasn’t gonna blow our minds. I just love Anne lmao.

IMDB plot: The mysterious past of a fishing boat captain comes back to haunt him, when his ex-wife tracks him down with a desperate plea for help, ensnaring his life in a new reality that may not be all that it seems.

The vibe is super eerie the entire movie, at which point you realize this is a thriller. It was interesting. There’s some life moments here that you can definitely take away. I try to look for those in each film I watch, so we at least get something out of them. It’s an hour & 46 minutes which dragged a bit at the end… and then you remember this movie wasn’t the best look for these A-listers As long as they get paid right?
