Gucci Mane, GRiZ & Tinashe Took Over Day 2 Of Air + Style

March 5, 2018

Sunday, March 4th

Air + Style weekend in full effect. After an eventful day 1, I was back for round 2. THIS TIME, I was ready for the cold. Literally decided yesterday that I was going to come in snow gear today. It worked. I was so content. I wore like 4 layers, gloves, and Uggs. I literally felt invincible.

Shout out to bae (Tinashe) for killing her set. And Elly for capturing! I couldn’t have done this without her this weekend.

Today was the day of exploring and discovering new music. Shout out to Crystal for capturing this shot. The only thing between the Winter and Summer stages was the ginormous snowboarding ramp in the middle of the park. I also have to commend everyone for how organized and well put-together the festival was this year. It made me so happy. The media tents were easy to locate, there were so many great food options and sponsors. Even the Subaru station was giving out space blankets to keep warm. For anyone who attended, you know what I’m talking about. The vibe was just perfect.

This is my favorite mood. Love these publicists. None of the artists were doing press today but they were still so responsive. Shout out to Shane and Grace again! I caught a quick vibe with Washed Out, who played a record called “New Theory” that had the crowd hyped.  I think it’s just one guy but he had his band to support on stage. His set put me in such a great mood. And then we went over to catch Griz‘s set. Officially a fan. On our way over, we see a guy on a scooter just completely geeked to hear Griz come on stage. It looked like he had a broken leg or something, but that didn’t stop him from dancing. And then I get inside the photo pit and I just see Griz run off the stage into the crowd, and then back on stage. His energy was insane. And can we talk about his saxophone talents? He even dropped his version of “Pony” by Ginuwine. Literally had everyone in the audience twerking.

And then, the moment we were all waiting for. 9pm for Gucci Mane at the Summer Stage. Jk, a lot of people were here for Phoenix, who was headlining after. But still, the crowd was legit chanting for Gucci to come out. No lie though, I think every other set at the festival was on time this weekend, minus Guwop’s lmao. He’s a boss. And he’s a rapper. So he can do whatever he wants. His DJ got us super hyped though. I thought it was cute that he opened his DJ set with “Gucci Gang.” I get it lmao. And then the legend himself, from East Atlanta Zone 6. Sweatsuit and all. He came out to “Both” featuring Drake before “I Get The Bag” featuring Migos. Legend. Gucci for President.

He performed “Back On Road” featuring Drake, which made me realize I’ve been sleeping on this record.

He then asked the crowd who the day 1 Gucci fans were and dropped all his hits. “I Don’t Love Her,” “Lemonade,” and “Freaky Girl.” The latter had the entire crowd channeling their inner hood. It was so lit lmao. I loved it. Last time I saw him, the crowd literally sucked. No one was moving. This time, it was a party. Sunday night never looked so good. He did “Slippery” by Migos next which the ENTIRE crowd knew the words to. SPLASH. He did Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” next, which I always forget he’s featured on.

It’s Guccccciiii!
