A Quiet Place = Scary Movie Of The Year

May 12, 2018

Friday, May 11th

Happy Friday! I feel like I haven’t written on my own fomoblog.com in forever. Probably because I haven’t. I literally have been hiding all week. So emo. I needed tonight so bad.

Shout out to my babygirl Noor and Ashley for joining me! I’ve been wanting to see A Quiet Place for a minute now. All I knew is that it’s a scary movie that got hella good ratings. We first attempted to catch Tully at 6:45pm and failed miserably. So our plan B was this at 7:45pm at AMC Burbank. The only problem is, there’s not 1, not 2, but 3 fucking AMC Burbanks. All in the same mile radius of each other! WHY. I’m still in shock of how unnecessary it is to have this many movie theaters in one place. We ended being at the wrong one, twice lmao. We had to walk our asses all the way to AMC Burbank Town Center 6, which is tucked away next to Crunch Fitness and Barnes and Noble. Shout out to 20-minute previews, we made it right on time.

First off, these cushioned reclining seats are everything. Second off, we were in the very front row, and there was still hella space to see the screen. Most of the time, we’re stuck straining our necks the whole time. This was legit! Being that this was a scary movie and it was Friday night, our theater was rowdy as hell. Lots of kids. But we all had fun. The movie begins and it’s literally quiet as hell. Like no sound, minus the loud munching of our popcorn. Shout out to my ranch seasoning. I forgot it last time at Avengers and was devastated.

IMDB sums up the plot: A family is forced to live in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound.

All I have to say is, Emily Blunt for President lmao. She killed this. So fucking talented. Come to find out, her real-life husband plays her husband in the film, who also kills it. John Krasinski even directed the film! Unbelievable. I literally have nothing bad to say about this movie. I think it got like 90% but I’d love to see why the 10% difference because everything was perfect. Even the length! 90 minutes is what every movie should be. There was action and suspense the entire movie — I didn’t check my phone once. That’s saying a lot. I love disconnecting in movies. I literally started responding to emails when I got to my car and got sad again.

But in all seriousness, this movie took me on an emotional rollercoaster. It was scary too. I shed a tear. I screamed. There are definitely some parts that will have you on the edge of your seat. I also hella wanted to see this because Childish Gambino did a parody skit on Saturday Night Live. Brazy.
