First of all, where tf did time go? It’s already time for next month’s rent. I feel like time is flying and it’s freaking me out. Anyways. Tonight, I had to take a break for myself and go to the movies. Had to. Before we go there though, shout out to Kris Wu being one of the coolest, most humble artists I’ve ever interviewed. He’s a superstar in China, as evidenced by this tweet alone. It’s crazy and so humbling at the same time because he is so fucking chill. He asked if I knew Chinese, I said I wish lmao.
Shout out to my babygirl Noor for convincing me to go see Book Club with her. This is exactly what I needed: a chick flick on a Friday night. We head straight to AMC Theaters at Universal Citywalk from work, which was only 13 minutes driving. Idk why but I’m always scared to push here. Parking is always a bitch and there are so many people. It turned out to be a vibe though. So worth it. Our movie was a hot $18.25, which was actually the student price. Unbelievable lmao. The worst part is they can. They can charge that much because people are going to want to see whatever movie they came to see. Smh.
Here’s the IMDB plot: Four lifelong friends have their lives forever changed after reading 50 Shades of Grey in their monthly book club.
The cast was lit: Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen. Honestly, this made me sad lmao. It made me sad to grow old and also sad to be single. Plus, I remember I copped 50 Shades of Grey at the airport one time, read two pages, and never went back. I can’t believe they made a whole movie out of being inspired by it. The film is an hour and 44 minutes, which wasn’t bad at all in our comfy, reclining chairs. I deserve this.
The movie is funny throughout. I would definitely say comedy/chick flick/kind of meaningful. I hated the product placements with 50 Shades and Bumble. Shout out to this movie for convincing me to never, ever get on dating apps lmao. Overall, save your money. Who wants to see Star Wars?
