Happy Friday. Tonight after work, I had date night with my babygirl Noor to see Christopher Robin, the new Winnie The Pooh movie. Yes, we were the only adults in the theater without kids. We hit up the 7:15pm showing at AMC 8 in the Burbank mall, one of the 3 movie theaters in a mile radius — and they’re all AMC. It was a super cute theater though, hella comfy seats.
IMDB plot: A working-class family man, Christopher Robin, encounters his childhood friend Winnie-the-Pooh, who helps him to rediscover the joys of life.
Rotten Tomatoes gave it a solid 71%, which I would go a tiny bit lower lmao. I will say the life messages in the film were pure gold though. They had some deep ass thoughts that both of us were like “oh shit.” The animal characters in real-life tripped me the fuck out. It’s like when Spongebob has those rare scenes with humans. I wasn’t feeling it lmao. The movie runs for about an hour and 45 minutes, totally doable. It was definitely entertaining, but no need to mob to the theater.
Had to pull up to The Novo for SOB x RBE. Bay Area for life. This follows last night’s show with Iamsu which I did not have the energy to write about lmao. If you guys aren’t familiar, they’re a collective that blew up off their song “Anti,” and more recently “Parademic!” featuring Kendrick Lamar on the Black Panther soundtrack. Shout out to Dani for always taking care of me and staying to hang. I wanted stage access specifically because I know how the crowd looks when SOB drops their hits.
