Searching Is The Best Movie I’ve Seen All Year

September 14, 2018

Thursday, September 13th

I’m shook. I swear I just saw the movie of the year. Huge shout out to the broskee for recommending this, I just wanted to go to the movies. This exceeded my expectations tenfold.  Introducing Searching, which stars the Asian dude from Harold & Kumar: John Cho. I hadn’t seen the trailer, but my bro told me a girl goes missing and they use today’s digital space and social media to find her. Sold. This was one of those movies where the minute I walk out, I’m hitting everyone I know who loves movies to go see this shit. IT WAS SO GOOD!

I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s start with the IMDB plot:

After his 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a desperate father breaks into her laptop to look for clues to find her.

First off, this movie was MADE for us. Asian family, takes place in the Bay Area, daughter doesn’t get along with her parents… Margot Kim (the missing child) is me. They even had San Jose and 408 area codes plugged throughout the whole film. It was LIT. On top of that, there’s so much drama and intensity in each scene. I was literally squirming and screaming. And the fact that everything was real and could happen was the craziest part. The use of Facebook, Instagram, Gmail… it was all so relevant. This was a fucking genius plot. I can’t get over the attention to detail. And the clues! And the plot  twist.

We hit the 9pm showing at Regal LA Live. Theatre was a bit empty, but we all fucking loved it. That shit was too epic. It’s less than two hours long, which is seriously a game changer. I even skipped a concert to see this, and it was the best decision I ever made. No cap. Go watch this ASAP.

Came straight from Queen Key at The Regent for All Def LA. Shout out to babygirl.
