G Herbo is honestly one of my favorites. Got to interview him years ago at SXSW and again recently for Okayplayer. His most recent album Swervo with Southside is seriously one of my favorite projects to drop all year. Tonight was the LA stop on his Swervo Tour, taking place at Catch One, the old Union. He can rap his ass off.
there’s no better way to fall in love w/ an artist than seeing them perform live.

In all honesty, I slowed down on shows. Unless I’m REALLY into the artist. I’m so happy I came through tonight. Seeing G Herbo interact with his fans, who knew every line to every one of his songs, was honestly beautiful. It made me realize all the bullshit and negativity that comes with work and the industry is so irrelevant to the bigger picture.

I don’t think anyone was ready for Lil Bibby to come, and better yet Juice Wrld. That was some major Chicago love right there. The stage had 2 intersecting street signs (S. Essex & 79th St.), reminiscent of G’s neighborhood and upbringing. He’s really from the streets and raps about all his experiences and struggles in his music, as well as the come up. I got so much respect for him. He performed cuts off Humble Beast and Swervo, and even his debut mixtape Welcome to Fazoland.
