The Girl in the Spider’s Web Was Lit AF

November 10, 2018

Friday, November 9th

Happy Friday. Today, I woke up with my back all fucked up. I feel like I’m getting old :/ so sad. Also super shook from the fires that’s happening so close to LA. Praying for all those affected. This video had me literally speechless.

Took the night off to catch a flick w/ my babygirl Val and super happy we went. Movies are the cure to life. We hit the 8:30pm showing of The Girl in the Spider’s Web at The Grove, which ended up being really good! Really didn’t know anything about the film, other than it was the sequel to Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

First off, I haven’t been to The Grove since it remodeled (minus when I interviewed Keke Palmer this week). They definitely upped their prices to $17 per movie ticket and $3 parking WITH validation.  So whack lmao. They literally eating off us. But the theater itself looked brand new. It’s all modern now with hi-tech everything. Before walking in, all the Christmas decorations were up. It’s lit. It’s totally that time of year.

IMDB plot: Young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist find themselves caught in a web of spies, cybercriminals and corrupt government officials.

Shout out to Claire Foy for absolutely annihilating her role. This is one of those action/drama/overall intense films, perfect for Friday night. I thought I would need to follow attentively to stay but the film does a good job of keeping you engaged and on your toes the entire time. Also, the dude from Get Out and Sorry To Bother You, Lakeith Stanfield, has a fire role. It’s always nice to see a familiar face.

The movie’s a solid 2 hours, which is expected with thrillers. I would definitely go see this if you’re bored! And if you’re a fan of the series, 100% you’ll love this.
