Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Was Amazing

Friday, November 16th

Happy Friday! Had to go to the movies tonight, I’ve been looking forward to it all week. Shout out to Duncan for mobbing with me. We hit the 7:50pm showing of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald at Regal LA Live downtown. It was opening weekend so we were in the main theater at the front. I had no idea what to expect, and I forgot if I’ve seen the first one. But it was seriously so great.

Plot: In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans of raising pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

I guess this is the series that was before Harry Potter’s existence, but also written by the same author, J.K. Rowling. I honestly loved every second of it. The picture and scenery were so beautiful and cinematic, and all the creatures in the film were so magical. It seriously made me want to live in the movie, and I’ve never felt that way before. The entire 2 hours and 15 minutes are engaging and within the first scene, you’re strapped in for a ride.

The entire cast is lit too. I knew Johnny Depp was in the film, and we had to double check to make sure. The chick from Mid90‘s is in it, which I just saw. Also Jude Law is raw af and the Asian chick who played the snake made me happy. Overall, it’s the perfect movie to go enjoy on the weekend. I would recommend it to everybody!
