Creed II Is The Best Boxing Film To Date

November 25, 2018

Saturday, November 25th

Happy Saturday! It’s 2am and I just got home from watching Creed II, aka baby daddy Michael B. Jordan. This movie was everything we thought it was going to be, and then some. I literally landed at Burbank airport from the Bay around 10pm, called a Lyft back with my brothers, and got swooped in time for the 10:50pm showing at Regal LA Live. Shout out to my babygirl Ari, we were hyped.

This was definitely opening weekend, but the movie theater was quiet af (probably because we went so late). I definitely can’t recall a second of the first Creed, but it’s totally chill because you really don’t need to have watched the first one to enjoy this. This was the most entertaining, inspiring, heartwarming boxing film to date. Honestly though, Michael B. Jordan. No explanation needed.

IMDB plot (simple as hell): Under the tutelage of Rocky Balboa, light heavyweight contender Adonis Creed faces off against Viktor Drago, son of Ivan Drago.

The movie is a little over 2 hours long (like 10 minutes over), but it’s so fucking good. My hopeless romantic ass had me literally awwww-ing throughout the whole film. I also shed a tear at the end, but no one has to know. Tessa Thompson killed it, she’s also from Sorry To Bother You. ALSO found out she dated Janelle Monae. ALSO, the soundtrack is so fucking great. Mike WiLL Made-It is a legend. Hearing “Shea Butter Baby” by Ari Lennox & J. Cole during the film truly warmed my heart.

No spoilers. Go see this.
