Merry Christmas Eve! Today I worked a little, got a massage, went on a run, and went to see Second Act with the rents. Just found out AMC Cupertino 16 shut down, which had me shook. We hit the 7:10pm showing at AMC Mercado 20 in Santa Clara, old stomping grounds. We literally used to mob here during high school, King’s Academy was down the street.
First off, my bro ditched me for the holidays so I was really sad about that. I hella wanted to see the J. Lo movie & thot I would ask the rents. It worked out perfectly. If you know me, you know I didn’t have the best relationship w/ my rents, but I’m trying. Trying real hard. It’s hard. Life is hard. Right?
Rotten Tomatoes plot: Jennifer Lopez stars as Maya, a 40-year-old woman struggling with frustrations from unfulfilled dreams. Until, that is, she gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as book smarts, and that it is never too late for a Second Act.
This movie was literally made for me. I hustled my way to where I am today, I would say. Street smart > book smart always. I literally cheated my way into UCLA. Not bragging, just saying there are definitely ways to advance in this world, especially if it’s not set up for you.
family is literally all you have.

The movie didn’t get the best ratings (42% & 50%), but holy shit, we loved it. It was so relatable, and the plot twist came at the perfect time. Even my dad said he wasn’t bored once lmao. That was cute. It’s super heartwarming and reminds you that family is literally all you have. Literally.
It’s only an hour and 43 minutes. Rom-coms are my fav. I would recommend this for the holidays for sure.
