‘Child’s Play’ Turns Chuckie Into Modern-Day Film

Happy Tuesday! Today is Tuesday, which means half-off movies. But that totally doesn’t apply to me because I have AMC A-List, which I fully regret getting lmao. Trash. Tonight I went to see Child’s Play with my favorite couple (thank you Val & Corey for swooping me). We hit the 9:30pm showing at AMC Universal Citywalk, but totally got fucked over with our seats. We picked handicapped seats & ended up having to split up when we actually got there. 🙁

The entire theater was full. At least the movie was a hit?

Shout out to the reclining seats though. I hardly go to the Citywalk but it’s actually pretty close to DTLA with no traffic. Only thing I hate is the parking. I like to just pull up & dip, you have to walk a ways here. Anyways, this is meant to be a horror movie. It wasn’t that scary… at all. It was more entertaining more than anything. The jokes were funny.

IMDB plot: A mother gives her 13-year-old son a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

I guess this is the remake to the 1988 Child’s Play, which is basically Chuckie. Shout out to Aubrey Plaza playing the kid’s mother, I love her. She basically gets the little boy a doll, who turns out to be evil af. There’s definitely a lot of death and gore so if you can’t handle that, you won’t like this. It was however only an hour 30 minutes so totally doable. Corey thought it was corny but I didn’t think it was that bad.
