Sunday, September 1st
Holy shit it’s September. Went into Ralph’s today & they already had Halloween candy out. Brazy. Today was chill. Interviewed Big Daddy Kane at Delicious Pizza’s West Adams Block Party. He’s one of the greatest MCs to ever do it. Went to yoga, then saw Bennett’s War with my favorite people. Shout out Val & Corey, I love ya’ll.
We hit the 9:20pm showing at AMC Burbank 16, which had literally 7 people in the theater including us lmao. Honestly it feels like there aren’t that many great movies out rn, or I just seen them all. Probably the latter. This movie got 60% on Rotten Tomatoes, which I feel is a pretty accurate score lmao. It was corny but it wasn’t terrible.
IMDB plot: After surviving an IED explosion in combat overseas, a young soldier with the Army Motorcycle Unit is medically discharged with a broken back and leg. Against all odds he trains to make an impossible comeback as a motocross racer in order to support his family.
Michael Roark plays the main role, he wasn’t bad. Pretty much he’s in the army & gets injured but finds BMX Motocross as his biggest passion. Still with an injured ankle, he manages to find the strength to race again. I guess it was inspiring. Definitely worth waiting for Netflix though. Go see Peanut Butter Falcon though! So fire.
