Today, Swiss-Born, London-based newcomer Kings Elliot announces herself as an artist we’ll be adding to our watch list with a heart wrenchingly beautiful video for recent single, “Bitter Tonic.” Premiered today exclusively on Flaunt, the slow-burning ballad showcases Kings Elliot’s gorgeous vocal tones over a haunting arrangement.
The track is complemented by a sparse video which gets us deep in the feels, a visual collaboration with filmmaker Yuan Hu.
Speaking exclusively on the video, Elliot states, “For the video, I saw myself struggling in the water—at the mercy of the freezing ocean as a way to physically demonstrate the sensation of being overpowered by your emotions. I couldn’t feel my fingers and my limbs for a long time after the shoot but it’s always worth doing something uncomfortable if it helps people understand my story.”
Kings Elliot burst onto the scene in late 2020 with her first two singles “I’m Getting Tired Of Me” and “Dancing Alone”, quickly racking up streams, calling widespread attention, and gaining fans in Lewis Capaldi, Dixie D’Amelio and Reece Wetherspoon! With the rising star describing herself as a ‘sick puppy’ who openly battles borderline personality and hopes to help people heal with her music, we’ll be hearing a lot more from Kings Elliot.
