If you haven’t heard of KINGS, prepare to fall in love. Based in Nashville, the rising pop artist originally hails from smalltown North Carolina, where she grew up playing piano, singing, and studying dance. With undeniably hypnotizing vocals, KINGS is hard to miss with her standout yellow hair… and she’s bringing that same energy into the music industry.
Today, she returns to unleash her newest single titled “ur a good bye,” premiered today exclusively on Flaunt. The soaring electro-pop anthem serves as her first release since signing with Snafu Records, giving fans just a small taste of what’s to come.
Speaking on the inspiration for the record, KINGS states, “Honestly, I was in my feels for a hot minute over a TikTok boy I was dating who ghosted me. After I later found out he thought my vibrant yellow hair was a deal-breaker for a relationship, I thought to myself ‘there’s no way I’m letting an insecure boy bring me down with him.’ From then on, I wanted to empower people with the songs I wrote about this situation.”
8 months after initially recording voice memos on her phone, KINGS finally finished recording the song, which she notes has opened a brand new chapter for her and her songwriting, emboldening her to reject the toxic people in her life and turn experience into cathartic poetry.
Ultimately, KINGS wants her fans to see her music as a safe space. Listen above and sing the lyrics at the top of your lungs!
