Hey everyone! Man… when I tell you my life has been a whirlwind. So many highs, so many lows. Definitely going through the motions of someone who suffers from bipolar disorder. But anyways, my week has been insane. Shot 3 amazing episodes of Shirley’s Temple Tuesday, got to hang out with Teyana Taylor that evening, then the next day had a complete mental breakdown. 🙁 I can’t make this shit up, but that’s why I’ve been trying to be way more selective on projects, going to events & generally who I give my time to… really be more careful on who I let into my life.

Shout out to my babygirl Val for always being there for me. After my interview w/ BLXST & Bino Rideaux, also after hot yoga, we went to see The Forever Purge at Universal Cinema AMC at CityWalk Hollywood at 10:15pm. First off, no more paying for parking! Probably because of Covid or it was super late at night, but that made me so happy. $5 to park for a movie ain’t it. Also what made me really want to see this movie is Snow Tha Product had made a song specifically for the movie, that plays right at the end when the credits start rolling. Really loved my interview w/ her & can’t wait for it to come out! I just published my Shirley’s Temple episode w/ SK8 btw, go peep.
IMDB plot: All the rules are broken as a sect of lawless marauders decides that the annual Purge does not stop at daybreak and instead should never end.
Soooo I thought this was the second Purge.. it’s the 5th. LMAO, ther’s so many! The Purge is exactly how it sounds… everyone killing each other. It’s more so gory and violent versus scary, although I definitely screamed like a little girl a few times. Val too, it was hilarious. I love scary movies because they’re fun & you really can escape reality for that hour or 2. The plot here is really interesting, because typically they give you 12 hours for the Purge, but this time everyone CONTINUES to purge and they try to take over the country. Hence the title, The Forever Purge.
What I do remember is all the Purge films were fire, & this one did not disappoint. It’s only an hour 43 minutes, & got 78% on Rotten Tomatoes. To me, there were so many deeper meanings and life messages to take away. For one, it really shed light on racism and how fucked up America can be to minorities. Also why I love that Snow made a song for the movie, Mexican culture is so prominent in it. Similar to Mortal Kombat, there’s so much death that it sometimes freaks me out this is what’s being portrayed on the big screens to the youth, so as long as they’re seeing the bigger message here it’s all good.
I’d recommend this for sure. Lmk if you like it!
