‘Jungle Cruise’ Starring Dwayne Johnson & Emily Blunt Is Based Off The Disneyland Ride

Hey everyone! Writing this from the road, my brother and I are driving back to Los Angeles from the Bay. Spent two days back home, much needed. Wish it was longer, but I definitely got in some much-needed self-care. Also fell in love with this hot yoga studio called Sagar Hot Yoga in Santa Clara… they literally opened up shop just for me!

Anyways, Saturday night I went to go see Shang-Chi at the new movie theater down the street from our crib. AMC Sunnyvale 12 is so nice! It took over the old mall that used to be there, all I remember is a Macy’s. Now there’s a Whole Foods, AMC, Ulta Beauty… right across the street from downtown Sunnyvale. My brother wanted to check it out so we hit the 10:15pm showing of Jungle Cruise.

IMDB plot: Based on Disneyland’s theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles but with a supernatural element.

Shout out to Corey who told me this was worth seeing. Honestly, you can’t lose with Disney. If you guys have been on the Jungle Cruise ride in Disneyland, this is what the entire movie is based off. It stars Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) and also Emily Blunt, both incredible actors and actresses. There’s a lot of action throughout the film, the latter half is what reeled me in. Only downside is it’s over 2 hours… 2 hours 7 minutes to be exact. Why are these movies so damn long 🙁 my attention span is not a fan!

I think it’s so interesting they made the movie after the ride, but it’s also sick because now kids can be more excited going on the ride. I will say however, there’s creatures towards the end who are cursed by the river, and they’re literally so trippy. I thought I was on drugs for a second lmao, like a shroom trip turned bad! They had worms and shit growing out of their body… idk how to explain it, but it tripped me out. I was not high, but kinda wish I was.

Rotton Tomatoes gave this a 62% on one side, and 90% on the other side. I never know the difference but I’d say the average of both numbers is a safe bet. Definitely if you’re bored it’s cool, but I wouldn’t spend money on it.
