Amsterdam-based, silver-blonde songstress Nina June builds songs from the vestiges of past romances, friendships, and her worries about the world. On November 26th, Nina will release her full-length album Meet Me on The Edge of Our Ruin, which collects all these thoughts and feelings into 10 eloquent and artful arrangements.
Premiering today at FLAUNT, Nina shares the official music video for “The Great Reveal,” an intimate song about “being in love with someone who left you; what to do when the person that you love has moved on but still occupies your heart.” Written with singer-songwriters Jon Bryant and Ben Cramer (Old Sea Brigade), the piece is a collaboration across 3 countries (The Netherlands, Canada, and the US) and 3 different time zones.
“We all were a bit skeptical about writing remotely, but it went surprisingly well, and we wrote the song within 3 hours.” Nina says. “We all felt there was something magical to it. It felt like this song wanted to be written, and it wanted to be written by us.”
Throughout her career, Nina has always created cinematic pop songs that deftly tell the tales of complex forms of human connection. The latest album and track are no exception.
The album is co-produced with Duncan Mills (Florence + The Machine) and released via Nettwerk Records. Pre-save here.
