Hollllyyyyy moly, when I tell you I LOVEDDDD this movie!!! Literally on par with the new Spider-Man, which is saying A LOT! If you guys haven’t heard of Sing or Sing 2, let me put you on. First of all, it’s a cartoon movie, but it’s soooo cute. I’m pretty sure I saw the first one, Sing is hard to search in SEO so I can’t find it. This movie made my whole Christmas break, it brought me so much joy. We hit the 10:35pm showing at Universal Cinema AMC at CityWalk Hollywood. Shout out to reclining chairs! Also shout out to me losing my car in the parking lot after. I literally smoked a joint right before and thought, “there’s no way I won’t remember where I parked after the movie.” False lmao, such a fail. We went down every floor damn near.
But anyways!! IMDB plot: Buster Moon and his friends must persuade reclusive rock star Clay Calloway to join them for the opening of a new show.
First of all, Buster Moon is a koala. They are all animals in the movie, & the voiceovers are all lit AF! I didn’t even know until the end credits! Tori Kelly, Reese Witherspoon, Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, Eric André, Pharrell Williams… the list goes on. I honestly fell in love with this movie before I knew all these people played the characters. Timeout, how can I get a voiceover role?! So dope lmao they just get paid to talk. The plot is so adorable and inspirational, really sends a positive message to go out there and go after your wildest dreams, NO MATTER what the circumstances!
Clay Calloway is this unreachable artist and Buster Moon made the impossible, possible. The entire film is focused on Moon saying he could do something, when in reality he wasn’t sure he could. But his confidence and passion is what ended up being the gamecharger in the end. The film is 1 hour 50 minutes so the perfect length. So many emotions and heartfelt moments, I definitely shed a tear. (Shout out to my girl Rilee, she did too lmao). I loved this movie so much!! If you have kids, it’s a MUST! If you’re an adult, also a must lmao. I swear, you won’t regret this. OH and we went in 3D so it was extra lit. 12/10 recommend this film!! <3
