Sunday, March 20th
Happy Sunday! Well, technically Monday. It’s been FOREVER since I’ve been to the movies. Okay I lied, I checked & it’s only been 2 weeks. Maybe feels like forever because I’ve been so busy, but went to see Dog and it was a major bust. But tonight!!! FINALLY got to see the new Batman movie. Was definitely hesitant at first because it clocks in at 3 hours (that’s just a long time to be sitting there), but definitely well worth it. I honestly think I was on the edge of my seat throughout it all. This film might even have more anticipation and hype than Spider-Man, which also had everyone raving with positive reviews.

Shout out to my girl Ashley for coming with me, we hit the 7:45pm showing at AMC Burbank 16. Def one of the go-to theaters since I live in DTLA. There were a good amount of people there, which I like because it means people still want to see the movie. Hell, Trevor Jackson said he watched it twice! That’s 6 hours of your life lmao I could never.
IDMB plot: When the Riddler, a sadistic serial killer, begins murdering key political figures in Gotham, Batman is forced to investigate the city’s hidden corruption and question his family’s involvement.
Similar to a lot of superhero movies, I think this Batman is yet another remake. This time, it stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, who everyone knew after starring in Twilight. Critics say he didn’t play a good Batman, but I didn’t think it was bad at all. But can we talk about Zoe Kravitz one time? Sheesh. She plays Catwoman and she’s fine af. They needed a badass female on the big screen here. Zoe’s dad is Lenny Kravitz, & I’m sure he’s proud as hell. She killed her role.
The Riddler is the villain, he’s introduced immediately in the film. He ends up giving Batman a series of riddles to solve, while killing people along the way (terrible). No spoilers, but it’s 3 hours of nonstop action. I really liked it, & it feels even better to go to the movies after you’ve been working all damn day! Highly recommend if you haven’t gone yet. I feel like we were actually late to the party too. The night it came out, everyone was freaking out on Twitter. It also got a 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is super high for them.
ANYWAYS, have a crazy week so gonna get to bed. Thanks for reading, I hope this persuades you to watch Batman!
