You guys!!! I haven’t been to the movies in so so long. I’m so hyped. Last night was perfect. I really gotta start taking time to do things I enjoy, because work continues to plague my life. Shout out to Corey for giving me a voucher for a free movie ticket at AMC, one of the REALIST. And shout out to my girl Ashley for asking me to go see Lightyear, this is the film that tells the backstory behind Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. Sooooo adorable!! I’m obsessed. <3
Originally we were trying to see Top Gun, but we couldn’t find the theater in time. Burbank has like 3 AMC’s all within walking distance of each other, it’s kind of insane. The AMC Burbank Town Center 8 is INSIDE the mall, & really fucking hard to get to. And when it’s crunch time, it’s even more stressful. We decided to hit the 9:15pm showing of Lightyear at AMC Burbank 16, what a great decision! I’m a sucker for Disney movies, and Pixar never ever disappoints.
IMDB plot: While spending years attempting to return home, marooned Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear encounters an army of ruthless robots commanded by Zurg who are attempting to steal his fuel source.
The movie is an hour 40 minutes long. I do think it could have been shorter, I started wandering off in the second half of the movie (thanks to my ADD). But! My favorite favorite part was Buzz Lightyear’s robot cat named Sox. I actually thought he was a dog for the longest, until they said “robot cat” in the movie. Sox was there to be Buzz’ emotional support animal, & I just can’t get over the cuteness! His eyes, his everything. They did such a great job of making him undeniably cute. It honestly truly made me miss my dog though. If you guys aren’t following my pup on IG, please bless me with a follow! 😂 I’m trying to get Slim to 250 followers lmao. The struggle is real.
🚨Spoiler Alert🚨 Don't forget to stick around after the credits… 👀 pic.twitter.com/hQrm48VXgX

Overall, the movie warmed my heart. They did a great job of making it super modern, & displayed a lot of inclusion on the screen. Some characters were black, some were gay. It was just dope how they put the modern day twist on it. Not to mention Buzz Lightyear is voiced by Chris Evans from Captain America, & Buzz’ space ranger partner is voiced by Keke Palmer. So fire! I actually ran into Keke Palmer on the BET Awards red carpet, she is so beautiful. DISCLAIMER!!! Stay for ALL the end credit scenes if you can! We only stayed for one & was very confused why it was so short. After seeing this tweet, it all makes sense.
Anyways, highly recommend! I feel like a super child going to see this at 31 years old, but it really made my Friday evening.
