You can’t have a conversation about West Coast hip-hop without mentioning Ice Cube. Boasting 24.8 million followers on Instagram alone, some even deem him the creator of gangster rap. Songs like 1992’s timeless smash “It Was a Good Day” puts you in a good mood instantly, and let’s not forget his contributions to the world of film as well. His Friday films continue to bring joy and laughter for generations on end.

On Friday, October 28th, Ice Cube performed a headlining set at Yaamava’ Theater inside Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel.  In fact, Ice Cube’s show sold out the first night so quick, they had to add a second one the next day on Saturday.

Sheen had the absolute pleasure of attending the show and staying at the Yaamava’, which doubled as a resort and casino in Highland, California, about an hour and a half from Los Angeles. The entire experience and ambience felt like an upscale version of Las Vegas, but much cleaner, modern, extremely welcoming, and beyond comfortable.

Thanks to a $760 million expansion earlier this year, Yaamava’ boats 17 floors with 432 rooms, an expansive pool deck with views of the San Bernardino Mountains from the 7 private cabanas, fine dining and fast casual restaurants, and a full-service spa. The selling point had to be the casino, which hosts over 7,000 slots and 150 table games with a maximum bet of $25K.

Ice Cube’s set began around 8:30pm, with the legendary WC by his side (formerly known as Westside Connection). Entrance into the 3000-capacity theater was convenient in itself, as escorts helped us to our seats. Songs like “Bow Down,” “Gangsta Nation,” “Check Yoself,” ”You Know How We Do It,” and “Friday” all reminded fans of Ice Cube’s GOAT status, going on 30+ years in the game.

Of course, the grand finale was “It Was A Good Day,” as fans thoroughly enjoyed themselves singing the lyrics verbatim. Those who wanted to keep the party going even had the opportunity to head to the pool deck for the show’s afterparty.
