For those who don’t know, who is FancyBaby?

FancyBaby is my alter ego, she’s everything I would want to see within a star persona. She is that girl or whatever Beyoncé said. She’s  fierce, she embodies confidence, and is kind to whoever she meets. A true people’s person and “fancy” obviously (L-O-L).
How would you describe your sound?
My sound is unique; although my main focus has been rnb and hiphop I initially started with just me and my guitar, and I feel that I bring those melodic structures w/in my sound doing rnb & hiphop bringing a unique and different sound.

You’re from Los Angeles, how does that play into your life and career?

Honestly being from LA has helped me navigate through people in this industry. Understanding the real vs the fake. I can always tell who’s from here and who’s not. Us true Angelino’s are actually very chill… cliquey, but super chill. Unfortunately we get this bad rep of acting “Hollywood” when in actuality it’s the folks that aren’t from here who act that way. It also helps being from here and knowing where to go as far as what places to perform and what cities to chill in or be around.
Biggest influences?
My biggest influences are Selena, Janet Jackson, Teena Marie, Micheal Jackson and my dad.
At what point did you realize this music thing was forreal?
Once I decided my major in college as “songwriting” was when I knew. I’ve always known that I was going to be in music, but that day was when I made the choice and solidified my dream.
What was the inspiration behind your name?
The name Fancy was given to me by my friends, I didn’t even make up the name. Everybody thinks it the Jamie Foxx show since my government name is the same as the character Garcelle Beauvais played on the show, but it was actually because I liked to drink various drinks out of fancy ass cups. [laughs] Hence how the name came about.
You have a performance coming up on October 20th with MANNifest Entertainment, how are you preparing for that? What can fans expect to see?
I’m so excited for the show!!!! I’ve been preparing by practicing and of course, getting my look together (the accessories, the fit, etc.) As well as practicing performing my brand new single! Everyone coming out can expect to have an amazing time as well as hearing some new music.

Your next single “Let You Go” is set to drop November 3rd, What inspired this record?

This record “Let you Go” was inspired by an ex that I’ve actually written a few songs about. This was the last song that I wrote about him. Honestly it was the icing on the cake and the final fare to that chapter of my life with him and within myself.
3 things I need in the studio?
A pen and pad, a microphone, and a bomb ass engineer.
Goals for yourself as an artist at this point of your career?
The goals I gave at this point in my career are to really be seen and heard got the right people in this industry, as well as finally making money and being able to eat from doing what I love. It’s time to go on tour and get my numbers up and make FancyBaby a household name in the music industry.
