Jay Fix is a recording artist, actor, singer and rapper from Chicago, Illinois. The rising star first started singing in the church choir at My Sinai missionary Baptist Church at the age of 6. In addition to singing gospel, Fix also feel in love with rap, rhythm and blues, country and pop genres. As Jay Fix became older joining school choirs, writing songs and recording vocals became an ever bigger practice of his to truly perfect his craft.
Fix is a perfectionist, and he’s self motivated and hungry to win. With his distinctive flow, imaginative metaphors, and ability to touch on various subject manners, the sky is the limit for Jay Fix. Most recently, Jay Fix unveiled his newest single called “Foodie.”

How would you describe you music?
My music is truly a great vibration to tune into. Fix’s Sound is clean and uses his vocal inflection to bring a unique and refreshing appeal to today’s audience. With musical productions from the multi-talented producer Skit P from Chicago Illinois, Jay Fix has more Hits to come this Year!
You’re from Chicago, how does that play into your life and career?
Being from the Midwest, I appreciate seeing how hard my grandparents worked and how they built homes for my family that are still up today! This fact motivates me to obtain more homes via real estate, help my daughter become more financially secure and build endless wealth for my future generation’s. In addition, I’ve been honored to showcase my talents representing the Midwest for over 15 years! And been truly blessed to open up for DJ Fink, Jonny Gill, Bobby Brown, Common, Ice cube and more! Hustling is a must in the city. As a youngin’, for a summer side hustle we would stand outside on 79th and Stoney Island selling bottles of water, then shifted our energy into selling high quality, motivational music and art.
Biggest influences?
My biggest influences are my father, my daughter in my personal life and musically Glen Johnson, my choir director for his writing and singing abilities, Troy Taylor for his writing abilities and vocal arrangements, Marvin Gaye for his vocal technique and Biggie Smalls for his lyrical ability. There are so many others: Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Tupac, Taken, Dame dash, 50 Cent, Tank, Twista, Common.
At what point did you realize this music thing was forreal?
When I first started recording with the rap group New Groundz at 18 years old, that’s when I knew that music was forreal. With 5 members in the group, the writing, the production and creativity was at a competitive high! In addition having talks with Skit P about networking, direct to consumer transactions and promoting content on social media has become a bright area in the music business and allow creators, artist awith like minds to have a real chance to be seen and heard by millions each day! I love it! What a time to be alive!
You just released “Foodie” who and what inspired this record?
Great question! “Foodie” is produced and Witten by Jay Fix And Skit P. The song “Foodie” was inspired by Chicago foodies on Instagram. AReel came up on my page and I thought it would be a good song. Skit P played the beat and I just sang “I wanna Fooooodieee!!” We also have an extended version of the song because we had written so many lyrics. Thank you to all of the foodies for your inspiration, visuals and content.
What is it you want fans to get from your story?
I would like fans to gravitate to the don’t quit part of my story. I just turned 37 this year and I am still a new artist, learning the business and humbled to express myself with you. Keeping an attitude of gratitude throughout my journey is why I am here today. Honored to be a part of a new generation of artists and creators to collaborate with around the world!
Goals as an artist at this point in your career?
My goal is to increase my core fanbase, retire from my 9-5 and create partnerships with global brands. I truly believe in myself as an artist, brand and as a ambassador. I plan to be an asset to all companies who partners with me in the near future. Lastly, I want to show my daughter she can do anything she puts effort energy and passion into. Thank you!
