Happy Hump Day. Keep on trucking. My morning began with my Twitter getting hacked. So that was a beautiful surprise. To be completely honest, it’s a pretty intruding feeling. Like, I had a mental heart attack.
It looked like some porn star took over my account, by the name of Adriana Webster. The bio read “looking for a sex friend.” Who tf? Why tf? Shout out to all my peoples texting me to let me know. Seriously, I love my friends. Took me a solid 35 minutes to log in :(.
And then work. If you know me, you know I fucking hate Snapchat filters. And seflies. So, hi. National Seflie Day. This was too fucking funny not to post lmao. Ily, Ash.
First up after work was this super dope Transformers event at Nice Kicks downtown. Shout out to Darron and the good people at Allied Moxy. I saw a bunch of my people were already there, which meant it was worth the push.
The event which featured an exclusive sneaker art collaboration took place on top of Nice Kicks, which is dope in itself. Right on the corner of Main Street. Sneakers always get me excited. I just love window shopping. The upstairs proved to be dumb lit. It wasn’t too crowded, which I can appreciate. There were one-of-a-kind art creations by renowned sneaker artists. How dope is this robot made out of kicks though?

This was such an excellent way to promote the film, which is out in theaters now. Go go go. The invite read: “complimentary hosted bar, light bites, and good vibes.” They didn’t say anything about this cotton candy and popcorn. Game changer. That popcorn was dank lmao. I literally need more. They also had a lit photo booth with props from the movie. Of course, it sent you a Gif. A Gif that I can never figure out how to save as a video. Smh.
fuck parking in #dtla i hate everyone

You guys. I cannot get over how genius this event was. Marketing team deserves a bonus lmao. Shout out to Def Jam and Courtni for the invite. First of all, Vince Staples is the truth. I was always a fan. Mainly because Vince actually delivers real Hip Hop. Not that turn up, party and drugs garbage. Real rap. And his production slaps. Overall, just a really great artist and human being.
Vince recently dropped his single “Big Fish,” which had everybody talking. This was about to be the summer anthem (check it out and you’ll see why). Vince is from Long Beach. He’s got that West Coast swag. His album Big Fish Theory drops this Friday. I’m excited. Let’s talk about the event space: Mrs. Fish downtown. Fish tanks all over. Seriously don’t think they could have picked a more perfect venue. And it gets better.
.@vincestaples really gave us a beta fish to take home 😭😭 can't wait for #bigfishtheory 🌊 pic.twitter.com/qHnkliF5G9

Real life beta fish. I don’t know why I think this is so epic. But it really was. I carried one around with me the entire night. Until I realized I was the only one. At that point, I wasn’t sure if they were up for grabs lmao. I walk inside to find all the homies in one spot. I loved seeing everyone. There were also bags of Goldfish on the tables. Amazing. The album was playing all the way through. Bangers. I say that with no bias.
Luckily, I run into Vince right as I walk in. I met him at Big Sean’s I Decided listening party and he remembered me. That made my night lmao. Huge thanks to Shawnae who helped assist getting Vince alone for a pic. Moving through a swarm of fans, Vince was getting stopped left and right for a photo opp. We finally get him on this wall. I wasn’t planning on it, but jumped in last minute.
Poor Vince, he was probably so over photos by then. He knows it’s part of the game. He’s a superstar now. I left with the fish in hand and many people brought to my attention that I would need to take care of it. I’m never home. Abort mission. Gave it to a trustworthy friend lmao.
