Pacific Rim: Uprising Was The Perfect Cross Between Marvel And Star Wars

March 24, 2018

Friday, March 23rd

Happy Friday! I feel like I haven’t posted on my own blog in a minute. been so crazy busy. Second installment of What Would Shirju Do? is out! Let’s go!

Tonight, I got to finally treat myself to a movie. Honestly, I feel like I went on a run before work and it gave me so many endorphins, enough to live life a little lmao. And go to the fucking movies. If you guys know me, you know I used to be a movie guru. I had the Moviepass long before people knew about the Moviepass lmao shit was wild. I saw EVERY movie. Anyways. Shout out to my girl Ari, we hit the 8:05pm showing at Pacific Theaters in Glendale. First of all, the Americana is LIT. I love this mall. It’s literally an exact duplicate of  The Grove, only bigger. Plus, it’s away from the hustle and bustle of LA.

We were originally going to see A Wrinkle In Time, but that got shit reviews. So Pacific Rim: Uprising it is. I actually found out about this flick because I got invited to a screening with Vince Staples earlier in the week, but couldn’t make it. It looked interesting, given I had no idea what the fuck it was about. That’s usually the case with me though. I usually just peep the ratings. This got like a 60%, so fuck it. Leggo.

IMDB plot: Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat.

Honestly, it was all action. Like, a cross between Marvel and Star Wars. Speaking of, the main actor is the same guy from Star Wars. I’m sure that was strategic. John Boyega def killed it. I was really into it in the beginning but then zoned out lmao. Just being honest. It was fun though. And I got to catch up with my girl. It’s an hour and 51 minutes long, so kinda long. Idk. It was cool. They put on for my peoples in China. Halla.
