‘The Photograph’ Was Such A Let-Down

February 16, 2020

Saturday, February 15th

Omg, I’m so upset I went to see The Photograph. I really thought it couldn’t fail because Issa Rae, but that was not it. It was so dragged out & I kept losing my patience. We hit the 7:30pm showing at AMC Sunset 5, which is my new fav theatre. It’s so nice, parking’s free, and Trader Joes is in the same lot.

Today’s Saturday but it doesn’t feel like it because I’m always working. Meep. Smoked w/ Lil Twist though, that was epic. Trying to learn how to actually enjoy myself more than worrying about the next thing I have to do. Anyways, movies are still my happy place. Shout out to Valerie for being my date! & excuse my mean ass review on the film lmao.

IMDB plot: A series of intertwining love stories set in the past and in the present.

It actually got pretty high ratings on Rotton Tomatoes (~75%), which I don’t understand how. I mean, it wasn’t THAT bad. But what it could have been doesn’t even compare. Funny thing is I ran into my girl literally last night & she was going in on Issa’s acting. She’s saying how Issa’s role as the girlfriend was the blandest and anti-climatic, & I literally had that in my head the whole time. Damn, she def ruined it for me.

I legit don’t even have the energy to explain the plot lmao. But he’s a writer, played by LaKeith Stanfield. He definitely killed his role, props to him. It’s basically a chick flick… a boring chick flick. It’s an hour 45 minutes long but feels soooo dragged out. Save ya money & go see Birds of Prey!
