Saturday, March 14th
I’m so angry rn lmao. Just saw ‘Extra Ordinary’ with my bros & hated it. Legit did not like the movie in the slightest. I feel like I just wasted my Saturday night. I’ve also been in my feelings so this didn’t help at all. I just had mad anxiety the entire time.
Today’s Saturday but the days are blurred. I did finally make it to Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in downtown Los Angeles. Super close to both me and my bro’s cribs, and super hipstery. All I knew as that it’s like iPic where you can order food, but they didn’t even have blankets. Also the trays were super tight & I felt claustrophobic. I missed AMC Theatres in this moment lmao. Literally went to see The Hunt last night, which was phenomenal!
Honestly, I’m mostly upset at the fact that Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 100%. There’s no fucking way! The only other movie that deserved this was Honey Boy, and even then they didn’t get 100%. This is so deceiving, we literally went to see it because of the high score. Adding both plots to give you as much info as possible:
IMDB plot: Rose, a mostly sweet and lonely Irish driving instructor, must use her supernatural talents to save the daughter of Martin (also mostly sweet and lonely) from a washed-up rock star who is using her in a Satanic pact to reignite his fame.
Rotten Tomatoes review: A horror/rom-com hybrid that somehow manages to blend its ingredients without losing their flavor, Extra Ordinary more than lives up to its title.
This film ruined my experience at Alamo & I feel like I’ll never go back lmao. Dramatic but seriously, the film was just twisted and creepy. It’s about ghosts and this psychic who has the power to bring back people from the dead. Idk… it’s weird af!!! It’s only an hour & 33 minutes but I couldn’t last. I legit wanted it to end.
