It’s Friday the 13th! And the world is in chaos. This Coronavirus shit has everyone upside down, including me. Everything is cancelled, this shit is seriously wild to me. I’ve definitely been emo, feeling like I lost a couple close friends recently. But everything happens for a reason & sometimes, you have to go through things to realize who the real ones are.
On a lighter note, let’s talk about The Hunt! First off, I’ve never experienced this: we tried to go to two different showtimes at two different theaters, & they were both sold out! I honestly had never heard of this movie until Corey brought it up. Shout out to Val for swooping me, we hit the 10pm showing at AMC Universal Cinema at CityWalk Hollywood. I literally just saw The Way Back starring Ben Affleck here… I cried in that one lmao.
just saw the hunt, shit was brazy.

But this was much more… light-hearted. In a sense. There’s hella blood and violence so if that makes you queasy, you might not like this. We loved it though. it was suppppper entertaining & the perfect length. One hour 30 minutes is how long all movies should be.

IMDB plot: Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are, or how they got there. They don’t know they’ve been chosen – for a very specific purpose – The Hunt.
First off, this has every celebrity starring as the cast. Most are only in it briefly because they get killed fairly quickly. That shit’s crazy lmao. You get all excited they’re in the film, & then they’re gone. Poof. It really trips me out how nonchalant people are about death in movies, but I guess that’s what sells. Smh. Anyways: Betty Gilpin, Hilary Swank, Ike Barinholtz, Emma Roberts… a shit ton of lit actors and actresses.
Betty is that bitch though. She’s the main character & comes out on top as the bad bitch who slays everyone. Honestly, I don’t want to give anything away. You just have to go see for yourself. Def would classify this as a thriller/action movie… with a hell of a life message. My take: don’t always believe what you see or hear in the media. Our society and generation’s use of social media and the internet is super alarming. It makes me sad it’s only going to get worse from here on it.
It’s called The Hunt because people literally get hunted. This got 73% on Rotton Tomatoes, I think it should be way higher. It’s great. Go see this! It’s like a quarantine at the movies lmao. I live for the movies.
