Tonight was a listening party for the books. Jay 305 was not playing. When I saw this was at Skyspace in downtown LA, it took me right back to that one time I went up to that rooftop 70 floors up, overlooking all of Los Angeles. I like to call it the Empire State Building of LA. This was in light of his Taking All Bets album, dropping July 14.

So, there’s no service up there. But ya girl got the wifi downstairs lmao. The journey from the bottom floor: checking in, going through metal detectors, walking through the building, getting in the elevator (twice), and walking some more to actually get to the event was a mish. And it was quiet. But we knew shit was about to hit the fan once we arrived. It’s Jay 305. Shit was about to get ratchet.

Not in a negative way. Jay 305 is the homie. He fits the exact criteria of that West Coast/LA rap, which is my shit. Translation: bangers. And beyond that, he’s a riot. He brought strippers to Interscope during a meeting. Legendary. This ice sculpture says it all.

We heard the music bumping the minute we stepped out of the elevator. They shut down the entire Skyspace for this (hours of operation are until 9:30pm). Lit. The open bar was super clutch. I didn’t expect it to a club environment this high up. The view of the city through those large windows were gorgeous. We tried to go outside but they wouldn’t let us lmao. Found Jay in front of this dope projector which was showing the album track listing and album cover. Had to steal the flick.

This had everyone crying, including me. Buddy literally gets down and puts his face right next to the chick (refraining from calling her a stripper). She was literally clapping her ass and Jay 305 joined the party. Selfie alert.

Shout out to my babygirl Laura for being my date and the vibe. She just threw the most epic party on Sunday for B.o.B. And huge thanks to Aura for the invite. The support is always real in LA.

Had to stop Hit-Boy and Dom Kennedy on my way out. Dom low key hates me cause every time I see him out I ask for a flick lmao. Oh well. They got some heat coming. So excited.
