HerHipHopLA’s 2nd Anniversary Soiree At Bar Lubitsch f. Ruepratt, Marley Waters, Abrina & Young Blacc

January 22, 2018

Sunday, January 21st

Happy Sunday everyone. Can’t believe it’s almost end of January. Brazy.

Tonight, my babygirl Jasmine was throwing me a birthday celebration part 2. I literally have so much love for this woman. Being in LA, it’s honestly hard af to find real genuine females that are sweet and care about the culture too. Jas is definitely one of them, and I’m so honored to have her in my life. She started her own media outlet called Her Hip Hop, which puts on for all the boss females in music. “Doin’ Hip Hop…Her Way! 💗🎶 Blogging Music, Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle and Events from Her Perspective!”

Tonight was HerHipHopLA’s Second Anniversary Soiree at Bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood, a bar I am very familiar with. I used to mob here with my old roomies. It’s right there on Santa Monica and always keeps the energy alive. There was so much to be excited for tonight: DJ Demi Lobo on the 1’s and 2’s, intimate performances, TACOS, cocktails, and nothing but good vibes. Above all else, it was a night of pure fun and entertainment for everyone who showed up: from music industry execs to media insiders to artists to influencers (I hate that word lmao).  Jas made me the cutest fucking flier too.

The event was from 8pm-12am, but my ass hella fell asleep (#life). I pull up around 10pm and find a parking spot right out front! Night already made lmao. Jas greeted me outside, like the loyal friend she is <3. And shout out to Party on Demand, they kill every function. The photo opp outside was super lit, literally. The photographer was shooting flicks on his iPad behind this light that was so powerful and made you feel important. Immediately ran into my girl Mariah whom I haven’t seen in ages! We were posted out here for a minute and I soon realized I hadn’t even stepped inside yet.

Shout out to Eric with Dean PR who was an absolute doll and made sure I was where I needed to be at all times lmao. Especially when they sang me happy birthday. I enter the back room to find Ruepratt on stage serenading the crowd. After her set, Jas ended up surprising me with 2 mouth-watering pieces of cake and even lit candles for me. This was followed by a BEAUTIFUL happy birthday song by Rue. I was so fucking honored and humbled (but also awkward because I hate attention). I just realized I blew out the candles without making a wish lmao oh well. People kept asking me if my birthday was today, and it was def on January 9th. Turned 27 years old and celebrated at the movies without shame.

Next up was DJ Marley Waters, whom I had the pleasure of meeting tonight. Turns out, I’ve been knowing his PR. It’s a very small world out here lmao. Marley produced Tinashe’s “2 On,” which was one of the biggest R&B records at one point. And shout out to J Maine who came out tonight. He told me about Marley’s record “Slide,” which brought Abrina to the stage. I met her as well, she is such a sweetheart. Their chemistry was unreal. Definitely adding this record to my playlist.

The evening ended with a performance by Young Blacc. I had court in the AM and tried to leave like 5x but I couldn’t lmao. It was too lit, and more and more people came through the door. Congratulations to Jasmine and all her success. She’s a fireball and you guys definitely want her on your red carpet.
