Prom Night With Lil Yachty: Teenage Groove; RJ’s #MrLA Mixtape Release Party

when you show up matching with @djfellifel… WHO WORE IT BETTER?

Today was brazy. And I’m lit lmao. Started off with me twinning with DJ Felli Fel at work. It was pretty on point, even the shoes which didn’t make the shot.

On my way over, I get a lovely invite from my boo Nelson to Lil Yachty‘s Teenage Groove, a prom-themed party. I wasn’t off til 7pm and I asked if I should go home and change and he said yes LMAO. Not the answer I was looking for…

Yachty’s on a high from his album Teenage Emotions dropping today, and this afterparty was one for the books. Literally, salute to Capitol Records, this shit was the definitely of lit. This took place right after his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, at Loews Hotel on Highland and Hollywood. This is a really dope space. We interviewed Paul Wall here.

I literally walk inside to find prom. This was so fucking sick. The decorations really made it feel like a high school dance. There was so much going on. I loved how many teenagers were out. They all looked like they were having the time of their lives (the food definitely helped). Lil Yachty legit does it for the youth. That’s his whole mantra. Ran into some good people at Capitol, and heard they decided to just give out wristbands after Jimmy Kimmel, so that his fans could enjoy.

@lilyachty threw a prom tonight!! Congratulations on that #teenageemotions album… out now!! 🙌🏽

There were so many people in attendance, which meant a long ass line for the photobooth. Always worth it. Shout out to this green screen. Still can’t get over how dope everything was lmao. It had all the assets: unlimited food (pizza, hot dogs, fries, FOR THE YOUTH), open bar (for those of age- the few of us there were), photobooths, shirts that were freshly stamped right in front of your face with Teenage Groove and date, and Nautica bags.

This was the best part you guys. I didn’t even know the goodies that were in this bag until I asked someone where they got their rainbow grill. They literally pointed to my bag on my back lmao. Fail. And also inside: a fucking hard copy of his CD. YAS. I love CDs so, so much.

Speaking of, I just got this in the mail too. Faith Evan and Biggie’s The King & I album. So grateful.

Everyone was FUCKING LIT when Lil Boat showed up. We all hovered to the stage. It was on. I literally was taking so many videos of him just turning up, not even playing his own music.

“Look At Me” by XXXTENTACION started things off. That song is up there with… any Uzi track lmao.

He played a bunch of turn up joints, Travis Scott’s “Antidote,” some Drizzy, and Playboi Carti (of course).

bruhhhhh. just watched #lilyachty milly rock. WISH MY PROM WAS THIS LIT 😭😭 #fortheyouth

This shit made my night lmao. Seeing him Milly Rock to “Magnolia.” By this point, I run into so many familiar faces. Even my boss showed up. Lmao. WAT. *playboi carti voice*

Lil Yachty was so kind. He was taking pictures with all the fans. It was dope to see. I had to dip out after an hour and it looks like I missed a food fight. Litty lmao.

My next destination: RJ’s Mr. LA mixtape listening party at Tiffany’s on Vine. Love this restaurant/venue/lounge/whatever else you want to call it. It’s right there on Hollywood and Vine. I think it’s safe to say it turned into a club tonight.

Shout out to Sasha and Michelle for the invite. Pretty sure both of them know how much I fuck with RJ and his music. He’s been in the vault fucking working. I was so excited when they announced his new project would be dropping in May. The only thing missing at this function was… RJ. Lmao. He fucking was nowhere to be found for about 3 hours.

#rj mr.la release party 💯💯💯💯 so excited for this project.

This ended up being the spot to be. All the homies came through. Shout out to AD, DJ Mustard, Kamaiyah, Eric Bellinger, and way more in the building. It was a tight ass space and my huge Joyrich backpack was in everyone’s way. I had the DX mic to get a drop from RJ, but soon realized that wasn’t going to happen lmao. Homeboy legit showed up at at the end, lit A F lmao.

As he should be though. This was his night. He shows up with his shades on and loud Lakers gear. He definitely has the support of his city, as well as his 400 Summers crew (Mustard and YG).

I really was hoping baby daddy (YG) to be here, but this made up for it. First of all, RJ gets to the front and literally starts rambling on the mic, that was barely working lmao. It kept cutting in and out. But RJ was on a good one. He literally couldn’t give a fuck less up there. He thanked everyone so much for coming and said this was the time of his life. The DJ then hands RJ the phone, with YG on the Facetime. RJ kept making fun of YG’s afro lmao. It was cute.

@rjmrla playing us that new #MrLA 💯💯💯💯

Finally, he plays us that new new. “Brackin” is a single off the project. But I was too distracted by the female next to him trying to get in his pants lmao. Literally, we were all just watching that go down. Awkward.

Came home to Bryson Tiller surprise dropping his album. And so many others. Stress lmao.
