Happy Thursday. The week needs to end, stat. Just a lot of things going on all at once and trying to stay sane. Tonight was a special event for Melissa Forde’s new Bajan Summer hat line, which features the most vibrant, chic bucket hats and dad hats. With no bias at all, these hats are adorable. The floral design will have you vibin’ like it’s summer all-year long.
Melissa, otherwise known as M Dollas, or Rihanna’s BFF, is a complete sweetheart. My good friend Jeremy works very closely with her and invited me to this private event. I was so honored. Half came for him lmao. This took place at the New Era shop downtown at L.A. Live, right next to Staples Center. This was familiar territory- I was actually in attendance when they first opened this store.

This space is so perfect for events like this. Of course, free drinks by Dusse and unlimited food in the back. Cheese for life. There were also fruits, tater tots, burgers… and a lounge you could indulge in. All her hats were lined up perfectly on the tables so you could admire each piece. They came in the most cutest, most fluorescent colors. Amongst the snapbacks and sports gear, these hats just popped.
Everyone was waiting on Melissa’s arrival. She was the star of the evening. I cannot get over how sweet she was. And she fucked with every pic I took lmao. I didn’t realize how tall she was. Those high-knee boots are from Zara (from The Grove, if you care). Jeremy said they got them the other day. Fire. Homegirl was a walking advertisement of why you should buy a hat. They’re so cute and such a great quality (shout out New Era).
We were actually all turning up so hard to the most lit female DJ, until I realized it was my girl Zuri behind the turntables. Me, her, and Jeremy all used to work at Joyrich. Good times. And shout out to Kami and Jesse holding down the store front. <3
